Anne Malleau
Global Animal Production and Welfare Coordinator
Anne Malleau is responsible for implementing Whole Foods Market’s animal welfare initiatives, including the launch of Global Animal Partnership’s 5-Step Animal Welfare Rating program in the company’s U.S. and Canadian stores. While this is her primary role, she also collaborates with suppliers on numerous welfare and production-related projects, works on supplier approvals, business contracts and sits on several North American farm animal welfare advisory and technical boards. Anne has extensive knowledge in the field of animal production and welfare, working for nearly 20 years on the subject and specializing in alternative farm systems. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, and a Master of Science in Animal Behaviour and Welfare at the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, followed by a Residential Master of Business Administration in Agribusiness at the University of Guelph. Anne has worked in the natural and organic industry since 2005.
