Whole Foods Market announced today it will open its first store in Olathe, Kansas, on Wednesday, April 22. The store is a new build located at 14615 W. 119th Street, at the corner of Black Bob and 119th Street. The store will span 37,000 square feet and will feature a full décor package custom to Olathe.

“We’re so excited to unveil the store to the community,” said Valerie Reed, the store’s marketing and community relations specialist. “The store is gorgeous and features tons of seating, farm-fresh produce, a coffee and juice bar and Kansas beef from Schenker Family Farms.”

One of the store’s standout features will be the Lone Elm Tap Room, a 50-seat venue with beer and wine on tap. The room opens out onto a patio with more than 30 additional seats.

“We’ll feature 12 local beers on tap, three local wines on tap, and a delicious, Kansas-inspired pub menu, complimented with generous patio seating,” Reed said. “We’ll have the full sports package on air and it will be a fun place to meet friends or grab a bite with the kids. We can’t wait for the community to experience it.”

Each Whole Foods Market store is custom created for the community it serves – from store design to product selection and décor, no two stores are alike. Customers will see locally-sourced materials in the store’s construction, including a reclaimed gym floor from Dekalb High School in DeKalb, Missouri, wood paneling from reclaimed beetle-kill ash trees from around Kansas City and spring bar stools in the Lone Elm Taproom from an oil rig in Kansas.

Customers visiting the store will find a full selection of Whole Foods Market’s fresh and organic produce, a wide range of hand cut cheeses, rotisserie chicken, olive and pickle bars, a large salad and soup bar, and bulk nuts, cereals and grains. The store will uniquely feature local and hyper-local products made in and around Kansas and Missouri, meats and bacon smoked in-house featuring Kansas-raised Schenker Family Farms beef and pork, and a “Chef’s Special” station with a rotating menu. Other stations include hand-made pizza and sandwiches, a full-service coffee, smoothie and fresh-pressed juice bar, and a full-service bakery with artisan bread and desserts baked fresh daily in-house. Customers can enjoy a high quality, fast casual meal in the store’s café section where ample seating will be provided both indoors and outdoors.

Store tours will take place on Sunday, April 19, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; tickets have been released to the public and typically are sold out within 24 hours. To book tickets and be the first to see the store before it opens, visit Whole Foods Market Olathe Sneak Peek Tours.
