(May 6, 2015) – Whole Foods Market, the leading natural and organic foods retailer, plans to open a new location in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, in early 2021. The 35,000-square-foot store will mark Jacksonville’s second Whole Foods Market and will be located at Pablo Plaza Shopping Center at 1822 Third Street South.

“We received such a positive response in Duval County that it felt organic to open a second Whole Foods Market in the community,” says Juan Nuñez, president of Whole Foods Market's Florida Region. “The Jacksonville Beach location is over 20 miles away from the other store so we’ll be able to cultivate new customers and cut travel time for many of our loyal shoppers.”

Specific information on this store will not be available until closer to opening, as each of the company’s stores are built specifically to serve the needs of their unique neighborhoods.

Jacksonville Beach will be the 29th Whole Foods Market location in Florida. The store was announced during the company’s second quarter earnings call on May 6, 2015.

Twenty-four additional stores are currently located throughout Florida, including Pinecrest, Coral Gables, South Beach, Pembroke Pines, Aventura, Davie, Fort Lauderdale, Coral Springs, Sarasota, Wellington, Boca Raton, Jacksonville, Winter Park, Pompano Beach, Downtown Miami, Orlando, Carrollwood, Pompano Beach, Tampa, Clearwater, Naples, West Palm Beach, North Miami, Palm Beach Gardens and Tallahassee.
