DIY-ers, foodies and dreamers unite! Dark Rye, an online magazine from Whole Foods Market, uses multimedia storytelling and accessible projects to inspire visitors to pursue their dreams while fostering a more creative and compelling world.

From rooftop gardens, basement distilleries and artists’ studios to the coasts of California, the streets of Brooklyn and the forests of rural Sweden, Dark Rye tells stories of people crafting a more sustainable, creative and beautiful world.

Dark Rye won Best Group Food Blog at the 2013 by the James Beard Foundation Awards. The online magazine also received a nomination from James Beard for Video Webcast, On Location for its series “The Curious Adventures of Kirk Lombard” produced by Kelly Le Castre, an executive producer at Whole Foods Market.

Dark Rye is now available for download as an iPad app here.
