Juan Núñez has spent his career in natural and organic foods beginning with Mrs. Gooch’s Natural Foods in California in 1982. He has been with Whole Foods Market since 1993 when the company acquired Mrs. Gooch’s, where he was Regional Operations Director. He has held various positions at Whole Foods Market, including Store Team Leader, Director of Store Operations in the Southern Pacific Region and Vice President of the Southwest Region. He served as President of the Florida Region since 1998, helping grow it from three to 32 stores and facilities, a bakehouse, a regional office and a distribution center with an adjoined produce facility. In 2021, Juan added the South Region to his portfolio, creating the Southeast Region. He now oversees a combined 78 stores and 3 facilities.
Juan serves on the Board of Directors of the Whole Kids Foundation and served on the Advisory Counsel for the Dean of the Andreas Business School at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. At Whole Foods Market, he has been named a Whole Foods Market Global All Star five times and has received five honorable mentions. Juan was born in Tocopilla, Chile and is a father of three. He attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth from 1977-1981 and has a BA degree in Organizational Leadership from St. Thomas University of Miami Gardens, FL.
