June 9, 2014. Whole Foods Market Co-Founder and Co-CEO John Mackey sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a rare conversation about mindfulness, creativity, adventure and the love that goes into running the natural and organic grocery chain.
During the hour-long “Super Soul Sunday” interview, Mackey shares his beliefs on the importance on living a conscious life, uncovering one’s higher purpose, spiritual intelligence and other principles from his bestselling book “Conscious Capitalism, Liberating the Heroic Spirit of Business.”
Winfrey concluded the interview with this quote from Mackey: “Life is short, so don’t cheat yourself. You need to follow your inner guidance. And Joseph Campbell was right: we are all on a hero’s journey. We just don’t know it. Some answer the call, and some don’t. I answered it.”
