NEW YORK (Oct. 16, 2012) — Quotes attributed to Christina Minardi, Regional President, Whole Foods Market Northeast Region:

“Whole Foods Market’s Northeast Region today is proud to announce its two newest New York City locations: Harlem and The Upper East Side. Joining our 7 other Manhattan locations, we’re thrilled to be bringing Whole Foods Market to both of these exciting, vibrant and community-focused neighborhoods.

It’s long been a focus of Whole Foods Market to work with the Harlem community. As part of a new construction project, our future Harlem store located at 125th Street and Lenox Ave., is being planned for opening during the summer of 2015 and will be approximately a 39,000 square foot location. With so many Harlem residents shopping with us at our other New York City locations, we’re so pleased to bring our natural and organic grocery concept to an area of the city we’ve been looking forward to joining for quite some time.

The future Upper East Side store, located at 87th Street and 3rd Ave., is being planned in an existing space of approximately 38,000 square feet and is slated to open in early 2014.  After opening this past summer on East 57th Street, we’re incredibly excited to open an additional store on the East Side for residents who have requested a Whole Foods Market for many, many years. After an arduous search, I’m so happy to say we have finally found a spot that this will surely satisfy and delight this community as well.”
