LOS ANGELES, CA (August 7, 2013) – Whole Foods Market is on track to launch a new noteworthy endeavor. Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 13, Whole Foods Market’s Third and Fairfax, West Hollywood, Arroyo, Santa Barbara and Venice stores will each carry a carefully curated selection of vinyl records, along with a line of locally sourced LSTN Headphones.
“Whole Foods Market is excited to scratch the surface of the music industry by introducing vinyl records and LSTN Headphones for our shoppers who want to turn the volume up on their regular music listening experience,” said Mike Bowen, Whole Foods Market executive coordinator, Southern Pacific region. “This launch isn’t just about stocking our shelves with something new and different – it’s about listening to our shoppers and giving them access to the things they want – whether it’s their favorite cheese or their favorite way to enjoy music.”
Whole Foods Market will be offering a wide selection of records, including Frank Sinatra, the Rolling Stones, Daft Punk and Bob Marley. Alongside vinyl records, shoppers will find a selection of LSTN Headphones, where for every pair sold, LSTN helps restore hearing to a person in need through the Starkey Hearing Foundation. LSTN Headphones are made from reclaimed, exotic woods sourced from furniture and flooring manufacturers, making each pair of headphones truly unique. LSTN Headphones are designed locally in West Hollywood by LSTN, a music startup that aims to give back through the power of music while providing unique products that sound amazing and look great.
“Whole Foods Market’s core values and philosophies are directly in tune with LSTN Headphones,” said Bridget Hilton, co-founder of LSTN Headphones. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to amplify the process of giving back with the support of Whole Foods Market and its shoppers.”
To celebrate the new launch, Whole Foods Market West Hollywood will host a Vinyl Records Launch Party on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event, which is open to the public, will include performances by Dawes, Yellow Red Sparks, Javier Dunn, Cary Brothers, and Jesse Thomas, and raffles of signed records, LSTN headphones and more. At the event, a number of notable music industry dignitaries will present Whole Foods Market with a plaque declaring August 17 “Whole Foods Market Day,” celebrating Whole Foods Market’s passionate commitment to music and the arts across the country.
Whole Foods Market will also be celebrating the addition of vinyl records with giveaways and events at each participating store throughout the month of August. Shoppers can contact their local Whole Foods Market store for full details.
