Whole Journeys introduces immersion program for travelers seeking nutrition and fitness overhaul
Renowned doctors and national experts lead intensive retreat Sept. 10-16, 2013
The program, called the Engine 2 Immersion and led by Engine 2 Diet Founder Rip Esselstyn and other national experts, will offer participants an in-depth education on a plant-strong diet, new fitness and exercise options, as well as strategies for sustaining lifestyle changes.
Up to 20 participants will join 70 to 80 Whole Foods Market Team Members in learning a plant-strong way of eating through discussions on medical research, comprehensive nutrition information, as well as interactive cooking workshops and extraordinary outdoor activities in the Sedona high desert.

Rip Esselstyn has inspired thousands of shoppers and Team Members to make healthier food choices as a partner in Whole Foods Market’s healthy eating education program, Health Starts Here™, which emphasizes whole, unprocessed foods that are rich in nutrients and contain healthy fats.
This health-focused trip also delves deeply into psychological and practical methods for successfully implementing lifestyle changes, with lectures and breakout sessions led by esteemed doctor Caldwell B. Esselstyn, Jr., famed nutritionist Jeff Novick and renowned psychologist Doug Lisle.
The weeklong retreat includes 18 plant-strong meals, lectures, workshops and other activities, as well as two biometric screenings in the $3,500 registration fee. A typical day includes a choice of morning workouts from moderate group exercise to yoga or hiking, breakfast followed by two to three thought-provoking and entertaining lectures from the speaker panel. Following a hearty lunch, the afternoon includes two additional discussions as well as several hours of free time to enjoy and explore the Sedona area. There are nightly hands-on cooking demonstrations, followed by a gourmet dinner and an evening activity.
