EMERYVILLE, Calif. (Dec. 30, 2015) – To support shoppers who are exploring new nutritional lifestyles in the new year, Whole Foods Market in Northern California is partnering with experts in Paleo, vegan, and gluten-free eating:
- Paleo— Michelle Tam, Nom Nom Paleo – nomnomPaleo.com
- Vegan — Jerry James Stone – jerryjamesstone.com
- Gluten-free— K.C. Pomering, G-Free Foodie – gfreefoodie.com
Each expert will present online resources for shoppers to kick off special diet resolutions, including their top 20 products (available at Whole Foods Market Northern California stores), a “stock your pantry” shopping list, recipes, and video content to demonstrate recipes and/or techniques in action. The partnerships will run from Dec. 30 to Feb. 9.
Here’s a snapshot of each program:
Nom Nom Paleo
Paleo pioneers can snag a “stock your Paleo pantry” shopping list at NomNomPaleo.com, and then visit any Whole Foods Market Northern California store to get the ingredients and find more of Tam’s favorites flagged with her logo. Customers will also be able to find at least one Nom Nom Paleo-approved item on the hot bar at each store, so they can try Paleo before fully committing (or grab lunch while they shop!).
Vegan with Jerry James Stone
Vegan adventurers can follow Whole Foods Market Sacramento on Instagram for short video instruction on using ingredients like mushrooms and butternut squash. Additionally, Stone will host two live cooking shows on Facebook to demonstrate how to make butternut squash lasagna and mushroom tacos. Shoppers can come to Whole Foods Market for all the ingredients Stone uses, as well as some of his favorite packaged, ready-to-eat picks called out right on the shelf.
G-Free Foodie
Shoppers who are going gluten-free can visit GFreeFoodie.com weekly to find posts and videos featuring Pomering’s favorite products, and then can find them by looking for “G-Free Foodie Pick” signs in the store. Pomering is also hosting a contest on her website and will shop Whole Foods Market in early February with one winner who is newly gluten-free, to help them best navigate the store to maintain the diet. Members of the public will be able to enter to win the shopping experience at gfreefoodie.com.
Shoppers can follow each expert and/or their local Whole Foods Market account on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to receive updates pertinent to their goals. Details of each program are available at wholefoodsmarket.com/2016resolutions.
