Arlington, Va. (September 24, 2025) – Whole Foods Market will open a new location of its smaller format store, Whole Foods Market Daily Shop, in the Crystal City neighborhood of Arlington, Va. on October 23, 2025 – the first of its kind outside of New York City. The store will be located at 1550 Crystal Drive and will have more than 10,000 square feet of retail space, making it the largest Whole Foods Market Daily Shop to open to date. The store will open at 8:00 a.m. on opening day, and regular store hours will be 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. daily.
Whole Foods Market Daily Shop is designed to bring the freshest, high-quality ingredients to customers with a convenience that fits their fast-paced urban lifestyles. Customers can also find Whole Foods Market favorites, including an ample selection of fresh, seasonal produce, meat and seafood, prepared foods, including sandwiches and pre-packed meals, baked goods, alcohol and supplements, as well as a handpicked range of local specialties and private label favorites from the Whole Foods Market and 365 by Whole Foods Market brands.
The new location’s product assortment features more than 250 local items from the broader D.C., Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area and surrounding states, sourced with the help of Daniela D’Ambrosio, Forager for Local & Emerging Brands at Whole Foods Market. Local products will include apples and Asian pears from Rice Fruit Company, frozen crab and shrimp entrees from Jimmy’s Famous Seafood and raviolis from La Pasta, Inc.
Opening morning, the first 300 customers in line will receive a limited-edition Crystal City tote bag and samples from local suppliers.
Whole Foods Market will present DMV-based supplier Laoban with a low-interest loan through the grocer’s Local Producer Loan Program (LPLP), to help grow their operations. Through LPLP, Whole Foods Market lends money to small-scale, local or emerging producers to help them grow their businesses. To date, the retailer has provided over 408 loans, representing roughly $38 million in capital for recipients.
Whole Foods Market will also provide a food donation to Northern Virginia Food Rescue, which makes regular surplus food pickups from local Whole Foods Market stores to help prevent food waste and serve the surrounding community. This donation is part of the retailer’s Nourishing Our Neighborhoods program, which aims to enhance the ability of local food rescue organizations to transport surplus food to areas facing the greatest need. In addition, Whole Foods Market will be making monetary donations to other community food assistance organizations, including ALIVE!, Inc. and the Arlington Food Assistance Center.
All food at Whole Foods Market must meet the company’s rigorous Quality Standards, which prohibit hydrogenated fats, high-fructose corn syrup and more than 300 flavors, colors, sweeteners and other ingredients commonly found in food.
This Crystal City store is located around the corner from Amazon HQ2 in Arlington, Va., and it will be the first Daily Shop location to offer Amazon pickup and returns.
