AUSTIN, Texas (July 2, 2013) – Throughout July, Whole Foods Market is partnering with Vitamin Angels for the fourth year to donate vitamins to those who need it the most—pregnant women, new mothers and children under five.

Whole Foods Market will donate 25 cents to Vitamin Angels with each purchase of a Whole Foods Market and 365 Everyday Value™ supplement. Twenty-five cents* is all it takes to provide A to a child for an entire year.

Vitamin A is important for immune function and vision, yet approximately 190 million children under five in developing countries are deficient in this essential nutrient. This year, Vitamin Angels hopes to supply 30 million children with vitamin A.

Select products from brands like Amazing Grass, Garden of Life, Jarrow Formulas, Nordic Naturals, Reserveage and Source Naturals will also be donating a portion of their sales to Vitamin Angels.

*The figure of $0.25 refers to the cost of reaching one child with two doses of vitamin A through Operation 20/20. Two doses of vitamin A per year can alleviate vitamin A deficiency (VAD) in children under five who are at risk. For more information, please visit: https://www.vitaminangels.org/faqs.
