AUSTIN, Texas (March 3, 2015) – Shoppers looking to elevate their Passover menus this year are in luck. Whole Foods Market is unveiling its largest lineup of kosher for Passover certified items ever, with nearly 200 better-for-you choices, ranging from the first-ever U.S.-produced, biodynamic grape juice to exclusive MSC-certified gefilte fish.

“Our shoppers look to Whole Foods Market for the largest variety of high quality, responsibly sourced foods available all year round, and our kosher for Passover selection is no exception,” said Dwight Richmond, global grocery purchasing coordinator for Whole Foods Market. “Whether you’re craving a fresh take on traditional favorites, or are looking for more organic, non-GMO-verified and fair trade options, Whole Foods Market is a one-stop shop for all of your Passover needs.”

In addition to meeting strict requirements for kosher certification, all kosher for Passover selections must meet Whole Foods Market’s stringent quality standards, which prohibit the use of artificial colorings, sweeteners and preservatives.

Whole Foods Market customers can find specialty products from iconic brands like Streit’s, a family owned kosher producer since 1925, who is introducing a new, exclusive egg matzo ball mix wrapped in retro packaging featuring imagery used back in World War II. Other highlights from Streit’s include handmade Shmura matzo from Israel, and kosher for Passover certified quinoa, the first of its kind.

Select Whole Foods Market stores will carry exclusive poultry options from Kosher Valley™, including fresh and frozen whole young turkeys and chickens, as well as fresh ground and value pack chicken and turkey options, certified by the Orthodox Union and the K'hal Adath Jeshurun. Most stores will offer lamb shank bones, a staple of the Seder plate.

Shoppers can round out their menus with sweet treats like gluten-free brownie and blondie crunch and the first commercially available boxed kosher for Passover doughnuts from Rebecca & Rose. Other highlights include exclusive Glick’s macaroons, Gefen cashew butter and Gefen apple crisps.
