AUSTIN, Texas (March 19, 2014) — Dark Rye, an online magazine and TV series from Whole Foods Market, has been nominated for the 2014 James Beard Foundation Awards for Video Webcast, on Location. Dark Rye also received a nomination in the humor category for the video “A Vision of Post-Apocalyptic Cuisine: Frankenchicken” produced by Ira Chute in collaboration with Lucky Peach magazine.
The Video Webcast, on Location category is a Broadcast and New Media Award category that includes documentary-style videos shot out in the field. The Humor category, which includes humorous or satirical journalism with a focus on food, is part of the foundation’s Journalism awards.
