Raised in Colombia, she developed a deep appreciation for diverse cuisines, landscapes, and traditions, often sharing meals and stories with her close-knit family. AnaMaria’s career in the retail industry began at Tops Markets, where she actively engaged in projects related to Retail Operations and Category Management. Her journey then led her to Giant Foods in Washington, DC, where she served as a Category Merchant, nurturing her passion for sourcing “better for you” and sustainable products while exploring global culinary traditions. In 2004, AnaMaria joined Whole Foods Market, drawn by the company’s commitment to high-quality, natural, and ethically sourced products, as well as its dedication to community well-being and environmental stewardship. Her dedication and expertise have helped her grow within Whole Foods Market, currently holding the position of Executive Leader/Director Grocery. She leads the purchasing strategy for the Baking and Meals categories, fosters supplier partnerships, and drives organizational change initiatives.
