Since 1990, Cathy Strange has been instrumental in Whole Foods Market’s success. As a world-renowned cheese expert, she played a pivotal role as WFM’s Vice President of Specialty and Global Cheese Expert, identifying food trends and fostering relationships with suppliers adhering to WFM’s Quality Standards. 


In August 2023, Cathy transitioned into her current role as Whole Foods Market’s Ambassador of Food Culture, where, leveraging her extensive expertise, she champions merchandising excellence, nurtures a deeper passion for food among team members, and elevates the overall culinary and hospitality experience in stores. Cathy collaborates across departments to create educational content, drive strategic initiatives, and enhance the organization’s dedication to culinary excellence. 


Beyond her role at Whole Foods Market, Cathy has the honor of judging prestigious competitions worldwide as an active member of culinary organizations such as the International Guilde des Foragers, American Cheese Society, Les Dames d’Escoffier and the Cheese Importers Association. She’s also been recognized by the French Order of Agricultural Merit and was the first American to be honored with the “Coltellino d’oro” from the Consortium of Parmigiano Reggiano.
