Heather Stern

Heather Stern serves as General Counsel for Whole Foods Market and Associate General Counsel for Amazon’s Worldwide Grocery Stores. In her roles, she leads the legal teams for Whole Foods Market, Amazon Fresh, and Amazon Go. Those teams handle litigation, employment law, merchandising and operations support, privacy, technology, real estate, supplier quality assurance, and licensing. The asset protection, claims, and risk teams also report into Heather’s team. Prior to her roles at Whole Foods Market and Amazon, she spent more than 11 years at Office Depot in Florida in various positions in the legal department, including Deputy General Counsel. She also worked at a large law firm in Atlanta and clerked for a federal judge. Heather went to law school at the University of Georgia School of Law and got her undergraduate degree at Purdue University. Heather lives in Austin and enjoys baking, yoga, and archery.
