As the Global Senior Coordinator for Specialty Cheese Product Innovation and Development, Joey Wells seeks out innovative cheesemongers and specialty producers around the world, bringing their products to market and supporting their growth and development within Whole Foods Market stores across the country. In 2012, he became an American Cheese Society Certified Cheese Professional (CCP) and was inducted into Guilde Internationale des Fromagers, the leading guilde for professionals in the dairy and cheese industry. Before joining the global specialty team, Joey served in several stores as a Seafood Team Member, a store Specialty Team Leader, and later, Specialty Coordinator for the Florida Region, a time in which he honed his knowledge and skillset as a specialty expert. Joey also develops cheese training materials for new team members and supports continuing education for Whole Foods Market’s 300+ Certified Cheese Professionals.
