Karen Christensen serves as Senior Vice President of Merchandising Enablement at Whole Foods Market where she oversees merchandising support functions, including Quality Standards, Sustainability, Pricing, Data, and Space Planning and Execution. She is responsible for Merchandising tools and capabilities related to buying, assortment planning, promotions management, supplier processes, and in-stock, working in close collaboration with the Digital Product and Technology teams.  

She previously served as Senior Vice President of Merchandising for Perishables & Quality Standards. She continues to demonstrate steadfast commitment to ensuring that every product at Whole Foods Market meets its unwavering standards for quality, sustainability, and ethical sourcing. Her ultimate goal is to empower our customers to make informed choices about the food they eat and to create a more sustainable and environmentally friendly food system for all. 

With over two decades of experience at Whole Foods Market, her passion for Whole Foods Market’s mission and purpose has led me work in distribution, perishable supply chains, store operations, merchandising, Whole Foods Market quality standards, sustainability, and leadership. As a leader in the industry and a board member of the Global Animal Partnership, she helps drive positive change in the world, beginning with the way we approach the people, land, and animals that produce our food.
