NEW YORK (August 27, 2012) – Opening Tuesday, September 4th the Café Spice Dosateria & Lassi Bar will provide Whole Foods Market shoppers an opportunity to enjoy a variety of authentic, made-to-order Indian street foods, including dosas, uttapams, lassi drinks and more.
“We are thrilled to once again be bringing the delicious flavors of India to Whole Foods Market,” said Sameer Malhotra, Vice President and Owner of Café Spice. “This new venue at the Tribeca store will allow us to show off an entirely new category of classic Indian cuisine that many people have not yet been introduced to.”
Offering vegetarian and meat options, Dosateria’s menu is fully customizable depending on the customer’s preference. The classic dosa—a light and crispy Indian crepe—will have breakfast, lunch and dinner options with deliciously designed culinary twists created by Café Spice’s Corporate Chef, Hari Nayak; like the “All the Raj” dosa, featuring pulled butter chicken, brie cheese and mango chutney or the Breakfast dosa with fried egg, spinach, spiced hash brown potatoes & Jack cheese. The lassi bar will serve sweet and savory yogurt drinks, spiced to perfection. The menu ranges in price from $4-$11.95, and all items and ingredients meet Whole Foods Market’s strict quality standards.
A celebrated LOCAL vendor of Whole Foods Market, Café Spice, based in New Windsor, New York, began their partnership nine years ago by supplying the retailer’s Columbus Circle location with freshly prepared restaurant quality Indian food. The partnership has since grown substantially, with Café Spice now providing over 250 stores with its great tasting and traditional ethnic cuisine. Dosateria & Lassi Bar will be Café Spice’s first in-store venue at Whole Foods Market.
