President – Pacific Northwest Region
John Clougher has been with Whole Foods Market since 1994, serving as regional vice president in the Northern California and Pacific Northwest regions prior to becoming the president of the Pacific Northwest region in 2007. His more than 20 year career in the grocery industry began as an entry level sweeper at Purity Supreme Markets in the Boston area and, over the next decade, he managed many departments including front end, produce and grocery. Since he joined Fresh Fields/Whole Foods Market in 1994, he has held the position of store team leader at many stores in Boston, Chicago, and Philadelphia, PA. John left briefly from 1997 to 1998 in a leadership position for Bed Bath and Beyond but was immediately drawn back to the natural foods industry. In 2004, John became the vice president of operations in the Northern California region and then moved to the Pacific Northwest region three years later where he was vice president of purchasing. A few months later, he was promoted to regional president, overseeing all stores and facilities in Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia.
