For the first time ever and exclusively from Whole Foods Market, San Francisco-based Instacart is offering Valentine’s Day flowers delivered in as little as one hour across the Bay Area. With prices starting at $30, this offers a more convenient and affordable alternative to traditional floral delivery. All roses also carry like Whole Trade Guarantee, which ensures better wages and working conditions for farm workers, fair prices to producers and supports community improvement programs.
Between Feb. 9 and 15, customers in the Bay Area can log on to Instacart.com or the Instacart mobile app and choose from four bouquet options, then use the “notes” feature to specify their preferred color* and what they would like to say on a handwritten card. Customers also choose a delivery window within one hour, within two hours, or at a scheduled time. Orders can be placed up to five days in advance.
Flowers from Whole Foods Market are big, beautiful, long-stemmed and wrapped in festive paper. Options in Northern California and Reno include: One dozen Whole Trade red roses with greens and filler ($40) One dozen Whole Trade red roses, unaccompanied ($30) One dozen non-red Whole Trade roses (colors vary*) 20-stem bouquet of tulips (colors vary*)
In addition to ordering flowers, customers can use Instacart’s Valentine’s Day “aisle” to find other romantic items available for delivery with the bouquet.
Instacart is available in select NorCal markets. Customers can visit Instacart.com to find out if delivery is available in their zip code. Instacart customers receive free delivery on their first order; thereafter the cost is just $3.99 for two-hour delivery or $5.99 for one-hour delivery.
