In a keynote fireside chat with Groceryshop VP of Content Joe Laszlo, Buechel discussed his commitment to uphold Whole Foods Market’s higher Purpose, Quality Standards and unmatched customer experience, while supporting innovative physical retail and technological growth.

Buechel assumed the role of CEO on September 1, 2022, after nearly a decade with Whole Foods Market. Previously, Buechel served as Whole Foods Market’s COO, during which time he provided operational leadership to support Whole Foods Market’s 105,000 Team Members across more than 525 locations and led the company’s technology, supply chain and distribution, cross-functional business integration and Team Member Services (HR) functions.
