AUSTIN, Texas (September 22, 2022) – Whole Foods Market Chief Executive Officer Jason Buechel recently participated as a keynote speaker at Groceryshop 2022, where he shared perspective on his priorities as CEO and outlined key initiatives that will define the grocer’s next chapter. In a keynote fireside chat with Groceryshop VP of Content Joe Laszlo, Buechel discussed his commitment to uphold Whole Foods Market’s higher Purpose, Quality Standards and unmatched customer experience, while supporting innovative physical retail and technological growth.

“What differentiates Whole Foods Market is our higher Purpose and Core Values,” said Whole Foods Market CEO Jason Buechel. “It’s important, not only for our culture, but, when I look at all of our stakeholders, whether it’s our Team Members, our customers, or our suppliers, our Purpose is what uniquely connects us at Whole Foods Market.”

Buechel assumed the role of CEO on September 1, 2022, after nearly a decade with Whole Foods Market. Previously, Buechel served as Whole Foods Market’s COO, during which time he provided operational leadership to support Whole Foods Market’s 105,000 Team Members across more than 525 locations and led the company’s technology, supply chain and distribution, cross-functional business integration and Team Member Services (HR) functions.
