Global Grocery Buyer With more than a decade of grocery experience, Perry Abbenante is a wealth of food product knowledge with a keen eye for trends in all things grocery – from portable foods and speed scratch to organic dark chocolate and the antioxidant açai. Abbenante got his start in buying and category management at a small, upscale grocery chain on the West Coast. In 2003, he began his career with Whole Foods Market and gained diverse experience as a regional grocery coordinator for both the Midwest and Pacific Northwest regions In 2005, Abbenante was promoted to global grocery buyer and is responsible for all global aspects of buying, category management and retail execution for all of the Company’s 11 operating regions for dry grocery, dairy, frozen, and bulk foods.
