2nd Annual Culinary Clash with Chef Cindy Hutson and Chef Clay Conley and 5% Day to Benefit Junior League of Miami’s Step Up to the Plate Program
Back by popular demand, our Iron Chef-inspired battle has joined forces with Chefs Club Miami to add some extra heat to the competition! This years Culinary Clash will feature Chef Cindy Hutson of Ortanique on the Mile going up against Chef Clay Conley of Azul at Mandarin Oriental, Miami. These friends and rivals will battle it out with only one hour to complete three (3) original dishes all containing a secret ingredient. Each dish will be judged by our panel of judges: Sean Bernal, executive chef of the Oceanaire Seafood Room; food blogger Jackie Sayet and Russ Benblatt, executive marketing coordinator of Whole Foods Market Florida Region. Who will win this year’s title? You’ll have to join us to find out! In addition, all day Wednesday, September 23, 5% of the days net sales will be donated to Junior League of Miami’s Step Up to the Plate program. The Step Up to the Plate program works with local Girl Scouts and their families to provide education, advocacy and hands-on training on food and their health. The project explores the many issues that are strands in the web of the complex food system and also covers topics that include: community, culture, history, manufacturing, nutrition and the role of advertising. As a special thank you to customers on September 23rd, members of the Junior League Miami will be on hand to bag groceries and thank customers for coming out to support the Step Up to the Plate program.
