Whole Foods Market’s newest location, at 348 Harrison Avenue in Boston’s South End, will open with the company’s traditional bread-breaking ceremony on Friday, Jan. 9 at 9:45 a.m. The store will officially open for business at 10 a.m.

The 50,000–square-foot store will be Whole Foods Market’s 30th Massachusetts location, and serve as the company’s Boston flagship. Whole Foods Market Ink Block will employ approximately 220 team members. The store is located in the Ink Block Development on the property of the former Boston Herald building.

The full-service grocery store will serve the South End community with the highest quality natural and organic groceries, produce, seafood and meats available. The Ink Block location will boast a variety of unique prepared foods venues as well as a large beer, wine and spirits selection. With a strong emphasis on convenience, Whole Foods Market Ink Block will also feature an in-store spa operated by Austin, Texas, based milk + honey. The spa will offer services ranging from manicures, pedicures and facials, to hot shaves and shoe shines.
