AUSTIN, Texas (May 6, 2015) – Whole Foods Market will launch a new store concept in the U.S., which will complement the company’s existing stores by providing a convenient, streamlined, value-oriented shopping experience to appeal to busy shoppers.
In addition to featuring 365 Everyday Value items and other store brands, these locations will offer natural and organic grocery staples, convenient options for meat, seafood and bakery items, an assortment of local products, and prepared foods that all adhere to Whole Foods Market’s strict standards for quality.
“This uniquely branded store concept will offer our industry-leading standards at value prices in an environment featuring a modern design, innovative technology and a curated product selection,” said Walter Robb, co-CEO of Whole Foods Market. “It will deliver a convenient, transparent, and values-oriented experience, appealing to anyone looking for high-quality fresh food at great prices.”
Whole Foods Market is building a team to focus exclusively on this new concept and is currently negotiating leases. The plan is to begin opening stores in 2016, and given the more standardized design and product assortment, the company expects a fairly rapid expansion from there.
“We believe the growth potential for this new and complementary brand to be as great as it is for our highly successful Whole Foods Market brand,” Robb said. “We look forward to sharing more details about this exciting new venture later this summer.”
