Hillsboro, Oregon. – Whole Foods Market's Tanasbourne location is pleased to announce a Community Support Day in partnership with the Washington County Bicycle Coalition, a non-profit organization whose members have been a voice for the bicycling community in Washington County, Oregon since 1998.
Whole Foods Market, the world's leading natural and organic foods supermarket, has selected WashCo BTC as the beneficiary of its upcoming Community Support Day. On February 24 2009, the Tanasbourne store will donate 5% of the day's net sales to WashCo BTC.
“Whole Foods Market is dedicated to caring for our communities and our environment, and our partnership with WashCo BTC serves this mission,” said Erin Rosvold, marketing specialist for Whole Foods Market. All Whole Foods Market locations are committed to holding four Community Support Days every year.
“The WashCo BTC Board and members are honored to be recognized by Whole Foods Market in Hillsboro.” said executive director Hal Ballard. “The Frans Pauwels Memorial Community Bicycle Center opened only last October and already the response from the community has been terrific,” Ballard said.
Located in Aloha, at TV Hwy & Cornelius Pass Rd, the Center serves those hardest hit during this harsh economic time, and the bikes they receive and refurbish, making them the “best bikes they can be for the bikes they are” are sold at low-cost, and in many cases, free to those who want or need a bike for transportation.
