AUSTIN, Texas (September 27, 2004) Whole Foods Market celebrated its fourth year of promoting Fish for Our Future®, an annual campaign aimed at raising consumer awareness about seafood certified by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and making the best environmental choices at the seafood counter. To further inspire support for sustainable seafood options, Whole Foods Market offered an online sweepstakes for two lucky shoppers to win a trip for two to the source of MSC certified wild Alaska salmon.
The grand prize-winning shoppers-one from Amherst, New York and the other from Arlington, Texas-have won a – 12-day trip for two to Alaska, British Columbia, and the San Juan Islands provided by Lindblad Expeditions.
“We are very committed to helping our shoppers make informed choices about the fish they buy, and we have worked with the MSC since its inception to help promote seafood sustainability. This year, thanks to Lindblad Expeditions, we were able to offer shoppers not only the best environmental seafood choices with delicious recipes and preparation tips, but also some fun and excitement with the sweepstakes,” said Margaret Wittenberg, Vice President of Marketing and Public Affairs for Whole Foods Market.
Lindblad Expeditions, known for eye-opening, inspiring journeys that explore the world with nimble expedition ships that can access places larger cruise ships cannot go, will host a voyage through a majestic maze of fjords, channels, rivers, and glaciers gliding towards the sea that will enable up-close and personal exploration.
