AUSTIN, Texas (August 30, 2018) – Today, Whole Foods Market unveiled its official list of Sommelier Best in Class West Coast Wines just in time for fall. Devon Broglie, Master Sommelier, and Whole Foods Market’s team of global beverage buyers selected 11 wines to pair perfectly with all fall flavors and occasions. These curated bottles provide shoppers with a range of essential wines they can confidently select for any occasion from California, Washington and Oregon. All 11 bottles are available on sale for a limited time.

Included in this fall’s selection of West Coast wines is a bold and velvety cabernet sauvignon from Banshee winemaker, Rob Fischer, that pairs exceptionally well with short ribs, burgers or a tasty balsamic-glazed rack of lamb. The promotion also includes a fresh and crisp riesling from notable Washington winemaker Charles Smith. Featuring white peach and mandarin orange notes, the Kung Fu Girl Riesling complements Asian-inspired dishes and fresh seafood.

“Each fall we invite shoppers to join us on an adventure exploring wines from some of the top wine-producing regions in the world,” said Devon Broglie, Master Sommelier and Global Beverage Buyer for Whole Foods Market. “This fall, we invite shoppers on a domestic road trip to experience wines created in our own backyard. We believe this latest collection offers shoppers the perfect roadmap to tour the vineyards of the West Coast wine country one glass at a time.”

Whole Foods Market is the only national grocery retailer with a Master Sommelier, and Broglie is one of only 249 people in the world to hold the esteemed title.
