PHOENIX, AZ (June 19, 2013) – Grocery lists won’t be the only things Whole Foods Market shoppers will be checking off this Saturday and Sunday, June 22-23, 2013. They’ll also be casting their votes for their favorite wines in the fourth annual Whole Foods Market Arizona Wine Awards. Hosted at Whole Foods Market’s Chandler, River Road and Scottsdale stores, 18 local wineries will be represented and guests will have the chance to meet with winemakers, learn about the art of winemaking in Arizona, and vote for their favorite red and white varietals.
“We host our annual Whole Foods Market Arizona Wine Awards not just to bring recognition to our talented local vintners and their fabulous wines,” said Sara Putnam, Whole Foods Market marketing field associate. “We also see it as an opportunity to invite our local shoppers to take part in selecting the awards because we believe that their opinions matter the most. And hopefully through sampling the different wines, they’ll even find a new favorite!”
Guests will be invited to sample wines from some of the most renowned and respected local vintners in Arizona. Wineries attending include Alcantara Vineyards and Winery, Arizona Angel, AZ Stronghold, Charron Vineyards, Dos Cabesas Winery, Dribble Creek, Four Monkeys Wine, Grand Canyon Winery, Javalina Leap, Keeling-Schaefer Vineyards, Keif-Joshua Vineyards and Winery, Kokopelli Winery, Page Springs Winery, Pillsbury Wine Company, Su Vino Winery, Tombstone Winery, Village of Elgin and Zapara Vineyards.
Participants will also be treated to some of the finest breads, cheeses and chocolates from Arizona’s most celebrated purveyors. Aunt Abby’s Macaroons, Lulu’s Raw Chocolates, Mediterra Breads and GoodyTwos Toffees are just a few of the vendors attending to complement the wine samplings.
Individual tickets to each store’s events can be purchased for $10 online, or in-store at $15 for two tickets at any of the three locations.
