AUSTIN, Texas (March 20, 2012) – Whole Foods Market was ranked No. 28 in FORTUNE magazine’s 2012 “Most Admired Companies” list. The nation’s leading natural and organic supermarket was also listed as the Most Admired Company in the food and drug store industry, leading the top ten list of retailers in the category.

Whole Foods Market was ranked in the top ten for social responsibility and product quality. The only company from Austin to make the list, Whole Foods Market was tenth among the all Texas-based companies included this year.
Each company on the list was scored on innovation, people management, use of assets, social responsibility, management quality, financial soundness, long-term investment, product quality and global competitiveness.
