LOS ANGELES (July 22, 2013) – Make no mis-steak, Whole Foods Market just got a little cooler with the return of frozen steaks. Back and better than ever, shoppers with a (rib) eye for beef will be able to find frozen Nature’s Rancher ribeye and New York strip steaks at their local Whole Foods Market store for just $12.99 per pound.

“Now, shoppers can enjoy the same tender, premium-quality steaks they’ve come to expect from Whole Foods Market’s meat case at about $4 to $5 less per pound,” said Mike Hacaga, Whole Foods Market regional meat coordinator, Southern Pacific region. “Our improved packaging locks in prime flavor and keeps steaks tasting their freshest — from the freezer to your dinner table.”

Packaged in a thick UV film and frozen at the perfect temperature, all Whole Foods Market frozen steaks are made of USDA Choice beef and have been rated according to Global Animal Partnership’s 5-Step™ Animal Welfare Rating Standards.

“With savings like this, shoppers can be sure to keep calm and grill on this summer,” said Hacaga. “Or stock their freezers with a few steaks for easy, last-minute meals for the whole family.”

Nature’s Rancher ribeye and NY strip steaks are currently available at all Whole Foods Market stores in Arizona, Las Vegas, Hawai‘i and Southern California stores.
