BEDFORD, N.H., (April 8, 2016) – Whole Foods Market (NASDAQ: WFM), America’s Healthiest Grocery Store®, opened the doors of its newest community market in Bedford, New Hampshire, today. The location is the second Whole Foods Market in the Granite State.
The 43,000-square-foot store, located at 121 South River Road, employs approximately 155 full- and part-time team members, including 107 new hires from within the community. The store is built on the historic site of the iconic former Wayfarer Inn. Whole Foods Market committed to celebrating its rich history by preserving wood from the inn and repurposing it in the store’s décor.
“We felt that we had a responsibility to the Bedford community to celebrate the significance of this site,” said Philip DeVito, the store’s team leader. “We are proud to say that elements of the Wayfarer will live on within the walls of this Whole Foods Market store.”
