PALM DESERT, Calif. (May 12, 2014) – Whole Foods Market, the world’s leading natural and organic foods supermarket and America’s first national certified organic grocer, will open its Palm Desert store on Wed., Sept. 24 at 9 a.m. Located at 44-459 Town Center Way, Palm Desert, the 30,099 square foot store will also serve nearby areas such as Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage and the Coachella Valley.

“The Palm Desert and surrounding communities have waited patiently for this new Whole Foods Market to open and we are very excited to finally bring them their own store with features that reflect the unique desert lifestyle,” said Patrick Bradley, regional president for Whole Foods Market Southern Pacific Region.  “Residents in this area are in serious need of fresh options, so we look forward to opening our doors to better serve this community.”

The Whole Foods Market Palm Desert location will create approximately 150 new jobs in the community, ranging from customer service to store leadership. With a focus on fresh, organic fruits and vegetables, specialty items, high-quality, responsibly-raised meats and poultry, everyday value pantry staples and sustainable seafood, the store will appeal to a variety of shoppers ranging from the health conscious to the serious food enthusiast.
