ATLANTA (November 20, 2007) Whole Foods Market® (NASDAQ: WFMI) and Southern Land Company, LLC plan for a new store development in Franklin, Tennessee.

The new store will be the second Whole Foods Market–the fourth store for the company including Wild Oats Markets–in the state of Tennessee. The new Franklin location will be a part of the McEwan Town Center development being built by Southern Land, LLC and will occupy approximately 45,000 square feet of retail space. No opening date has been announced.

Scott Allshouse, regional president for Whole Foods Market South Region said, “Franklin is a great fit for Whole Foods Market, as we already know with the success of our Wild Oats store.” “It’s an exciting opportunity for us to be bringing a second Whole Foods Market to the state, and the Franklin community is really going to love this store.”

Whole Foods Market is a full-service grocery store offering the highest quality natural and organic foods that customers may not find anywhere else – such as fresh-baked artisan breads, special cheeses from around the world, fresh local produce and the highest quality natural meats available. Combine great-tasting food with outstanding customer service and the result is a pleasantly atypical grocery shopping experience.
