Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Whole Foods Market today announced plans to relocate its Plantation store to a new site located in Davie, Fla. The relocation is tentatively planned to take place in late 2014.

The new store will be located at 1801 S. University Drive in the Town and Country Shoppes plaza, less than a half-mile from the current store in Plantation. It will occupy the site of the former Kmart and will have 42,000 square feet of retail space – 13,000 square feet larger than the current store. The additional size and space will allow team members to meet customers’ ever-increasing demand for new products and expanded services.

“We’re all really excited about this, and are looking forward to moving into our new, larger location in Davie,” said Dana Marano, store team leader in Plantation. “Customers are going to love our new store, and it’s a great way to re-introduce ourselves to the community.”

Whole Foods Market Plantation has been at its current location on Peters Road since 1997. Additional details about the relocation will be released as they become available.
