FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – South Florida’s unique culinary event schedule kicks-off Jan. 12 as Whole Foods Market sponsors Swank Specialty Produce’s Swank Table events in Loxahatchee Groves. Four events are scheduled through April.

This season there will be four al fresco luncheons on the farm featuring local and nationally known chefs who will create farm fresh dishes utilizing Swank Produce and Whole Foods Market fine proteins and pantry items. In previous years, the chef’s have created dishes featuring Whole Foods Market local yellow tale snapper, 5-Step Rated NY Strip Steak and house-made sausage.

Whole Foods Market has sponsored Swank Tables events for the past three years. This season’s events have an array of themes that create a collaboration of gourmet cuisine, local charitable organizations and current food trends. A portion of the proceeds from each luncheon benefits local charities. The Jan. 12 event, “Once Upon A Farm,” features four premiere South Florida chefs and benefits the Historical Society of Palm Beach County. Other events take place Feb. 9, March 9 and April 6.

Whole Foods Market Florida stores also serve as a drop point for Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs including Swank Specialty Produce and other local Florida farms. The program allows local farmers to use stores as a drop-off and pick-up point for their subscribing customers, free of charge. Swank Specialty Produce currently drops CSA shares at the Wellington, Palm Beach Gardens, Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale locations.
