AUSTIN, Texas (April. 18, 2011)—Whole Foods Market reveals its wide array of  kosher for Passover offerings – from organic and whole wheat matzo and gluten-free macaroons to all-natural and antibiotic-free poultry selections – just in time for the holiday.

“Our shoppers look to us for the best selection of high quality foods 365 days a year, and Passover is no exception,” said Errol Schweizer, senior global grocery coordinator for Whole Foods Market. “We’re proud to bring our shoppers a variety of Jewish staples that not only offer easy, delicious solutions for Passover celebrations, but also meet a variety of dietary needs.”

Whole Foods Market customers will find a hearty, exclusive, kosher for Passover selection, including organic, whole wheat matzo, matzo meal, matzo farfel and cake meal from Aviv, an Israeli matzo producer that was founded more than 120 years ago. Other exclusives include whole grain matzo, vegetarian, gluten-free macaroons as well as vegetarian cake and stuffing mixes from Streit’s, a family-owned-and-operated matzo producer in the U.S.

Select stores will also carry exclusive poultry options from Kosher Valley™, including fresh and frozen whole young turkeys and chickens, as well as fresh ground and value pack chicken and turkey options, certified by the Orthodox Union and the K’hal Adath Jeshurun.

“Shoppers don’t have to sacrifice their high standards to put traditional favorites on their Passover tables,” said Theo Weening, global meat buyer for Whole Foods Market. “Our poultry is raised with extra time and care and is dual kosher certified to ensure that shoppers are getting highest-quality, most flavorful bird, processed in accordance with kosher standards for their holiday feast.”

Whole Foods Market will also offer Avvio Organic grape juice, an essential part of the Passover Seder, made just for its shoppers from a special harvest of organic grapes. Also joining the lineup is new gluten-free matzo from Yehuda and exclusive, deliciously sweet and crisp Glick’s Macaroons. Shoppers can complete their Seder Plates with Z’roah (lamb shank) bones, offered free of charge.
