To celebrate the opening, Whole Foods Market will hold a special sneak-preview event complete with tastings and giveaways for the public on Monday, November 9, 2009, 5-8 p.m. Entry to the event is $10, with all proceeds benefiting the Connecticut Food Bank.

The new store will offer a host of exciting features including an extensive produce section with seasonal offerings, including locally grown fruits and vegetables. In line with Whole Foods Market’s commitment to strict animal-welfare quality standards, the meat department provides shoppers the highest quality meat free of antibiotics and added hormones. The indulgent bakery department will offer customers baked goods for all hosting and dining needs, including fresh breads, muffins, scones, pies and a variety of gluten-free options. The store’s prepared foods section will offer a wide variety of everyday favorites for meals on-the-go, including hot soups, roast chickens, house-made paninis, sushi and an assortment of hot and cold bar options that showcasing a collection of raw, vegan and no-oil choices.
