Whole Foods Market (NASDAQ: WFMI), the world’s leading natural and organic supermarket and America’s first national certified organic grocer and WP Realty, a Bryn Mawr based commercial real estate company, announce they have signed a lease for a new store location in Wynnewood. As the store shifts location and increases in size from 16,650 square feet to 45,000 square feet with 254 parking spaces, it will also expand offerings and include all the amenities customers have grown to enjoy. The store will feature an amazing array of local and artisan foods as well as an expanded bulk foods department.

“It’s great to remain in a thriving area that has allowed us to become part of the community; while being able to expand our store and offerings” said Scott Allshouse, Whole Foods Market Mid-Atlantic region president. “The new store will provide an enriched shopping experience and be on par with our neighboring Pennsylvania stores.”

During the interim, the Wynnewood store located at 339 E Lancaster Avenue will remain open. The new store is a short distance away – one block east on Wynnewood Road – with its current projected opening date slated for 2015. The process will be one the community can engage in with updates being posted on the store’s Facebook page and in the newsletter.

“Whole Foods Market will be the key component to the revitalization of the Wynnewood Road corridor. They are a marquee store and we are proud of our association with them,” said Bryan Weingarten, WP Realty’s Chief Executive Officer. “The bigger space will allow for a better shopping experience. We look forward to them being a staple of the community and at this site for years to come.”
